Supporting Each Other Through the Baby Formula Shortage
As the nationwide baby formula shortage makes the top story of every news outlet and subject of so many social media posts, Clearcover-ers have come together to support our team members who are parents of infants.
Our team effort came together, as so many of our initiatives do, on Slack. Priti Patel, a Senior Software Engineer and new mom, posted a photo of her extra formula on one of our widely used channels, and offered to ship it to anyone who needed it. Within minutes, Clearcover-ers commented on Priti's post to request some of her formula or to offer their extra formula as well. Recognizing the potential to help one another during this stressful and scary time for parents, our HR department quickly posted a link to a spreadsheet for anyone to request the specific kinds of formula they need with a second tab for those who have formulas available. Other Clearcover parents piggybacked on Priti's post with suggestions of trusted formula brands from outside of the US along with websites where the formula can be purchased.
Clearcover is grateful to have Priti on our team as a talented engineer and, as someone who truly cares about others, she exemplifies our people-first culture. As more Clearcover-ers commented on her post and used the spreadsheet to offer or request formula, they embodied the uniqueness of our culture in which team members come together and support one another even while working remotely in thirty states across the country.
Working parents at Clearcover are always supported by our package of perks and benefits which, among other offerings, includes twelve weeks of fully paid family leave and covers a majority of fertility treatments and up to four rounds of IVF procedures.
